Extech Instruments was incorporated in Boston, Massachusetts in 1971. The name Extech signifies the company’s commitment to EXcellence in TECHnology. In 2007, Extech was acquired by FLIR Systems, a global leader in innovative infrared thermal imaging solutions.

Since 1971, Extech Instruments has focused on Test and Measurement tools built for the professionals, tradesperson and DIY’ers.
