Tektronix Launches the 7 Series DPO Oscilloscope of Digital Oscilloscopes - The New Standard for Performance Test Equipment

09/17/2025 09:35:02

On September 16, 2025, Tektronix officially announced the 7 Series DPO Oscilloscope, opening a new generation of ultra-high performance oscilloscopes. This is a series of oscilloscopes designed to provide the lowest noise, highest ENOB, and support bandwidth up to 25 GHz right from the launch.

So, what are the main highlights of this oscilloscope line?

Key highlights: the machine uses two custom ASICs developed by Tektronix, combined with advanced signal and data processing architecture, enabling engineering teams and researchers in a wide range of fields, from high-speed communications, energy physics, artificial intelligence to quantum computing, to process complex signals with exceptional speed and accuracy.

Highlights of the 7 Series DPO Oscilloscope

Exceptional signal fidelity: ultra-low noise, achieving 7.5-bit ENOB at 8 GHz and 6.5-bit at 25 GHz.

Clear signal visibility: QuietChannel™ technology compensates for high-speed signal loss, reduces noise and increases accuracy.

Breakthrough speed: 10x faster data transmission than the previous generation, thanks to 10G SFP+ LAN interface and TekHSI™ library.

Scalable design: upgradeable architecture, TekConnect® probe compatibility, long-term investment protection.

Optimized for modern workflows: integrated serial signal analysis engine, 15.6” Full HD touchscreen, Windows and Linux dual support.

Proprietary ASIC Technology - Special Purpose Integrated Circuit

7 Series DPO Oscilloscope is distinguished by two Tektronix-designed chipsets: the Tektronix Tek079 and Tek085. These are the new silicon platforms for the next generation of oscilloscopes, allowing for scaling to higher bandwidths while maintaining the lowest noise and highest ENOB.

In addition to ASICs, Tektronix also incorporates optimized FPGAs and high-performance GPUs, ensuring fast processing, signal integrity, and near-instant analysis.

Seamless experience with TekScope® software

7 Series DPO Oscilloscope comes with TekScope Software, renowned for its intuitive interface, touch support, and cross-platform compatibility. The software unifies both the user interface and programming controls, making it easy for engineers to work from the lab to the production environment, reducing analysis and decision-making time.

The first model in this product line is the DPO714AX, which is now available for order and will start shipping from the end of September 2025.

Since 2015, EMIN has been the official distributor of Tektronix in Vietnam, ready to bring customers the opportunity to experience and access the latest measurement technologies from the company.

Downtime Doesn't Strike Suddenly: Many Factories Lose Hundreds of Hours of Production by Overlooking Subtle Warning Signs

For many factories, downtime is often viewed as an unexpected event that strikes during a production shift. In reality, however, the situation is different. Before a motor fails, a variable frequency drive (VFD) reports an error, or a production line requires an emergency stop, the equipment typically emits multiple warning signals—such as abnormal temperature rises, excessive vibration, degraded power quality, or unstable communication performance. These indicators can persist for days or even months before an actual breakdown occurs

The widespread adoption of wideband semiconductor components such as SiC and GaN in photovoltaic inverters, motor drives, and automotive charging systems has driven the switching frequency and power density of three-phase inverters to unprecedented levels. However, this development has also brought with it severe measurement challenges: high voltages, intense electromagnetic interference, and the requirement for ultra-fast switching signal capture at the nanosecond scale
