In electrical systems, short circuits are one of the most common but also most dangerous faults. If just two wires touch each other or a phase wire touches ground, the current can surge suddenly in a very short time. This will cause the circuit breaker to trip, electrical equipment to stop working, and the wires may even overheat and catch fire.
During electricity usage, there are times when appliances operate less efficiently than usual. Lights may flicker unevenly, pumps may run slowly, or the inverter may display a low voltage error. One of the common causes is voltage drop.
When inspecting the grounding system in electrical cabinets, buildings, or factories, measuring the ground resistance is almost mandatory. If the ground resistance value is not met, the lightning protection and electrical protection system will not function as designed.
